This is a collection of programs that I have found quite useful mostly in the areas of PC Repair technician work and/or data recovery operations. Shareware will be links to the official sites where they can be found with the entire url of the link in the status bar if the link fails. Some small freeware programs are here with the zip file and the full zip file name is the link to them. It is best to right click on these zip files and select Save in the popup menu.



Online Tech Resources: Tom's Hardware at www.tomshardware.com One of the first vendor neutral hardware review and bench test sites and still one of the best. "Uncomplicating the Complicated" at www.hardwaresecrets.com Website that explains everything inside your PC. Intel Chipset Comparison Charts Intel website pages that allow you to select different chipsets (theirs only of course) and compare them side-by-side feature-by-feature. Reanimatolog's Boot CD Wizard Page Excellent for building bootable CD's that can boot more than one image file on them. Sophisticated tools not intended for the novice! Be very careful of websites with a .ru extension ... be sure all links keep you at this site and don't take you elsewhere, be sure to block all popups, ad banners and cookies before you go there! AXCEL216's DOS/Windows Page Long standing and outstanding DOS/Windows support with lot's of bug fixes patches and technician tools and tricks - a MUST VISIT website for the PC Repair technician. AVG Free Anti-Virus Home Page NO ONE should be without an anti-virus and now one of the top rated five star anti-viruses on Earth is available as a free download. Go and get it now! Plasma Online This is a gigantic website where hardware including individual chips can be looked up and identified including photographs of each chip. Outstanding Internet PC technician's resource. CNet's www.download.com Page Most people know about it, but just in case you don't... Ad-Aware 2007's Home Page at www.lavasoft.com If you are not at least running this FREE antispyware then please step away from my website ... before your PC infects it! Comodo.com Home Page Mainly for the FireWall but they also have anti-spyware, anti-virus, certificate authentication, etc. I only recommend the FireWall and that's by hearsay. Zone Alarm Home Page at www.zonelabs.com Most popular completely free FireWall software. You have no excuses for getting hacked now! Links to DOS Program Collections www.simtel.net has a lot of good DOS programs buried deep inside there...you will have to search for them to find them. Dave's DOS Page Trinidad and Tobago's resident DOS fan has some good links to mostly shareware and freeware software, utilities, and drivers for DOS. www.bookcase.com's MSDOS > Utilities Page Extensive collection of software, utilities, and tools for DOS. F-PROT for DOS Full fairly well maintained anti-virus scanner that runs under DOS. Slovak Antivirus Center FTP server at ftp://ftp.sac.sk/sac/ These people have a HUGE collection of PC utilties, diagnostics and tools mostly for DOS. sac-ftp.externet.hu Downloads Page 1 Large library of mostly DOS software, utilities, and tools there are some Windows applications as well. Same warning for .hu extensions as for .ru extensions, but these pages are fairly barren raw download link lists. Still ... block popups, ad banners and cookies, have spyware shields up at maximum! 4DOS Info Page 4DOS is a COMMAND.COM replacement but this page still has a lot of links to good software, utilities, drivers, even old hard to find hardware. FreeDOS Page FreeDOS is an open source version of true MS-DOS. They have links and downloads to software, utilities, etc. that will work on both. www.pc-tools.net DOS Page pc-tools.net has some interesting offerings. Uwe Sieber's DOS Page Those Europeans know and love their DOS like no one else ... DOS "Ghost in the Machine" Page Plenty of good resources, downloads, etc. www.dmoz.org DOS Utilities Page Good collection of tools. Garbo's DOS Directory Page This is quite a large collection of DOS software, utilities, etc.
